everyone is still waiting for someone to do a turbo e36 m3 in an e30 but there isnt enough space. Two guys i know of are working on something. I think that they are going to mount the manifold upside down lol. Supercharged e36 3.2 converted to obd II in a 2400 e30 = mother of god.

Why in gods name would you want to run something under OBDII? ODBII is the Nazi's of the stock ECU world.

I'm still researching my switch to full stand alone to go with my new motor. Terry and I have discussed it before. Last I checked, he was leaning towards the Electromotive TEC unit.

He is getting a new M3 engine (well used actually). I think it may be a 3.2 with OBD I conversion, but I am not sure.

Throw a sr20det with a good turbo on it and be done with the german stuff. It would weigh less and be Oh so Different. (this is the same engine that netted a 10.X 1/4 pass on Greaser's 240 that weighs more then the e30). Of course then he couldn't compete in SM with it. Oh, well. Back to the M3 engines or take up drag racing as his new hobby.

I think if Terry put a Japanese motor in the M3 the German BMW Hit Squad would probably hunt him down and kill him for being sacreligous..

Then again, I've been thinking about building a V8 or 4G63 (Eclipse motor) powered 911 for a while now..

From German Hit Squad

Yes Treason will not be treated favorably. There is already discussion between the family re: Mr. Baker 350Z.

Just joking

It's not like it was a M3 to begin with. It's already a hybrid. It's one of those ideas that is far more pratical then what most people are willing to admit. In the end it would take the car out of SM and he couldn't autocross it competatively so another BMW engine needs to go back in there. If I ever find a used 318 (e36) for cheap, dont be surprized to find a SR20DET in it some day.

How the hell was it not a M3 to begin with!? It was a newer M3 motor in an older M3 chassis!
