Default amplifier help

my amp resets (turns off n then on) everytime when i turn my volume louder. does anyone know why this could be.

You're overdrawing / overloading on the amp so it has a built in protector.

well wat size battery cable do u have?
1 reason could be too small
another could be the amp is getting too hot and overloading and it cos's it to reset it self
that would be the main reasons

Yeah, like they said. If your radio is turned up too loud, it overheats the amp causing it to shut off temporarily, so its good to have the amp at a place in the car where it will receive air for temp. control.

Also if your amp is not a class D amp you may be bridging your amp down to an ohm level it cannot support. So check to see what ohm subs you have.

thnx, if its overheating, whats the solution. by the way i have a kicker amp 350.2 i have 8 guage cable for power. shud i change that power cable?

Yea atleast go with 4 guage and 8 guage for a negative cable. You could try finding a little fan or something out of an old PS2 or something and rig it up so it cools your fan but sometimes that can be tricky.
