P-town parking...
Up here in Fredericksburg they have something similar to what you all want to have. This place has rules and the cops are called if they are broken. The cops of course like to stop by frequently to check up on things. I have talked to some police and they like it because they know where to find the car crowd instead of chasing us around like they would be. So it actually helps the police out in a way. But there has to be some sort of organization. There must be people who enforce the rules and to call the cops when they get broken. First, there must be a parking lot to hold such a thing. We have it at the commuter lot. From 9-12 the parking lot is for this event I guess it would be called. Some of you may know about it, so sorry if you do.
Yeah the cops did use to check out the cars pretty closely. One earlier this year would look at them and then give them tickets when he saw them on the street, becuase he knew what was illegal already. But a much nicer cop gave him a talking to and that doesn't happen anymore.

and this is a lame one
I applaud all efforts I am seeing here, and I am mainly worried that with the news coverage , that there will be no way to sway the P-PD nor the property owners to budge on letting us go back... Its a public relations dealio. However, it wont hurt to try, but we have to be serious and everyone who normally has the attitude of 'fuck it, or "whatever I dont care" needs to buzz off now and let us get this together. i think the best way to approach this is to present dragva , or the general population of people who go to PTOWN as an organized, sensible group whom do not promote dangerous racing like that , and are willing now more than ever to police ourselves in how we behave there. Who do we have to talk to? First, the news. Yes thats right, because they have a big influence on the minds of the people who make the decisions. Everyone remember that "Undercover street racing" story 13 News did about a year and a half ago? That started the initial crackdown in Va Beach. I have it on tape if you didnt see it. But if The Virginian Pilot contacted the webmaster of this msg board, then they want to hear what we have to say. 1. 1 or 2 fuckup's cannot represent PTOWN as a whole. 2. Everyone is angry at what happened, and we do not condone it 3. If we are allowed to return to PTOWN, we ask that a PTOWN officer be present at all times. I get a laugh at them pulling someone over who barrels down the lot at 60 or 70mph for no reason other than to get attention. Whoever is organizing our "reaction" , please keep me in tune.

You fall into other safety issues with that. remember the main parkinglot entrance there is no lights. which means that the person there is going to have a reflectorized vest and have some kind of light source.
and for calling the cops on a couple people that don't wanna comply then the cops are gonna just eject everyone. How are you gonna call the cops for doing something that in a way your doing also. unless your an owner. Maybe calling the cops to just patrol the area more can help but then you know they may start busting people more for the little things illegal on their cars.
I still have to stick with teh idea of having a 1/4 mile track or circut track in the area. Somewhere people can go to and be able to go fast. So they can keep it off the streets and parking lots.

First, if indeed people still want to go out there, we need to get in contact with the owner of the Ames parking lot and make sure it is ok with them. Second, talking with the police and let them know what we are doing would help. Third, we need a "code of conduct" or atleast a way of policing our own. Add more to the list if you can think of other ways of making this better...
