Default Condo's in the 757?

Looking to gauge the market right now. Looking around for condo's with the wifey currently, because moving in to our own place is coming sooner and sooner than we would like to believe. We have some questions on what to look for when buying one (we're not renting anything period), how much you guys pay if it's not a private matter, what kind of loans you used to purchase one, all that great stuff. We've only stumbled across a few lately that have been what we would love to have location-wise, but not financial-wise yet. Looking for a place is hard as hell around here.

If anyone knows of any information on this subject at all, please don't hesitate to PM me or post in here. We're dying for some info!

Thanks. -Chris

the first step you should talk to a bank or mortgage company and find out what you qualify for and what kinds of programs are available, once you do that you can find a real estate agent and they will help you find something, they can do detailed searches of the listings and find exactly what you need/want

Things to consider -condo fees, restrictions?, also realize that in this area alot of people want single family homes with yards and not condos

There's alot of nice ones off of Centerville and Kempsville road. All new construction. OR chk S.Plaza Trail and Independance. New construction also. For almost the same price you can buy a old house or something...

I paid 125,000 8mo ago for a 2bed 2 bath condo at brookside over off of baxter rd and it was nice but you have things like condo fee's (and they go up whenever they want) and you have the condo ass. that tells you what you cant and can do . Like ex: you could not even have a grill outside and when you took the trash out you had to use black trash bags. And some more stupid rules. It was gay!!!!!!! Needless to say I sold it 3mo after I moved in.

Get a single family home before a condo or townhouse. All a condo is is an apartment you buy, nothing more.

Well I know getting into a condo means...paying attention to the rules and regulations, so maybe you didn't read some things before you moved in?

We're looking at houses equally as much...just figuring condo's less expensive and less upkeep required exterior-wise etc. as we don't have time for that just now.
