Nic- while I do appreciate that you seem to genuinely have in mind whats best for me and the other drivers, i do have some things to say. The reason I got 3 tickets is because i have random bursts of speed (although the first two were minor tickets), but i would not consider any fo them unsafe. The difference between myself and the other ppl on here is that i actually got caught speeding, while the others speed w/out getting caught. As for learning my lesson, I beileve I said "If there is a lesson to be learned, i learned it." Also, the prelude has plenty of power. Stock it ran a low 15 (on crappy clutch at that), with the modifications is should be good for mid 14s. I've seen plenty of h22 preludes with i/h/e tuned run flat 14s, w/ 200 whp. While im not professing this to be a mad fast car, im saying its not slow.

Being able to handle power is completely different from benig mature enough to know when to use it. I said that the power gets me in trouble, meaning I was not smart when i used it; thats not to say i was unable to handle it, it means i was stupid in using it when I did.

Tell me... how many tickets have you gotten? How many tickets have you seen others get? and have you learned a lesson not to speed on public roads? according to the "whats the fastest you hav been" thread you were going 166 mph on rt 64... so the difference between you and me? I got caught doing something not quite as stupid and learned from it.

I apologize if this post comes off as me being a 17 yr old kid who thinks he's all that at driving and is smack talking you cause you dissed me and my car, in reality im a 17 year old guy who loves working on and driving cars, doing nothing but defending myself.

I'am Not Talking Smack I Understand What It's Like, I Was 16 When I Lost My Liscense And Am 19 Now And Still Dont Have Them Yet. But I Think If You Have 3+ Tickets (Before Your 18) You Lose Your Card For Atleast 6 Months. Good Luck Though....

thanks for the good luck, and thanks guys for your recommendations and encouragement. I'm fully prepared to go to jail for a few nights, lose my license for a while, bend over backwards for the fine, etc. , I was stupid and prolly deserve it. Although i hear being a good student helps- i have a 4.7 gpa and got 1480 on the SAT (the old scale, out of 1600), do you guys think thatll help at all?

Man They Aren't Going To Lock You Up, Just Get Ready For Some Fines Or A Lost License For Awhile, Or Both. The Grades Might Help Matters Which Judge You Got.

While I do appreciate the fact that you believe I have what's best for you in mind, I really don't. You're 17 years old and you've proven that you're not yet responsible enough to be behind the wheel of a car. My family spends quite a bit of time driving through New Kent county and I would sincerely hate for some 17 year old kid to loose control of his car during a "random burst of speed" and injure someone I care about. Justifying your actions by saying "the only difference between me and anyone else on this site is that I got caught" shows me that you haven't learned your lesson yet. Perhaps 6 months to a year without your license will inspire you to tone it down behind the wheel of your 14 second powerhouse, although we'll leave the "is a 14 second car fast?" debate for another thread.

How many tickets have I been issued you ask? Three. The same as you. In 9 1/2 years of driving. None of them have been for anything as even remotely serious as your 92 in a 65. And no, I've never been behind the wheel of a car on public roadways doing 166 mph. If you go back and reread that thread, I said I was riding with a friend, ie., I was in the passenger seat, and let me tell you, I was scared shitless. So the difference between you and me? I know better than to do it on a public roadway. If you live in Richmond, you live within 30 minutes of two different drag strips. Use them.

At least you admit that you were being stupid. Have to give you some credit for that God apparently gave you a brain, please learn to use it behind the wheel.

And the last thing I'd want to happen would be having to swerve to avoid something, lose control, and hurt somebody in ur family- ur right, i was an idiot
