Default fuel cap

i have a fuel cap that is a locking one. problem is i lost the key. does anyone know how to take it off with out hurting the filler tube. any help would be great.

take a large flat head screwdriver and pry the top off of it. yes the cap will break. but the lower part of the cap will remain and then it can be unscrewed

or you can use a pair of pliers and grab the top(where the key goes) and the side and just pop it off then unscrew the bottom.

i personally prefer this method cause there is no real prying so no potential damage to the paint

my truck has the same thing eve since i got the truck which is 3 years ago and i just use a flat head screw driver........let me know if it dont work....
