Can you reccomend any air conditioning shops in the area?
It's time to put some cool in tha whip. The only shop that I'm familiar with is on1st colonial and since I live in Norfolk I really don't feel like driving out there, especially at $3.12 /gal.
I'm askign does anyone have experience with a good air conditioning shops in Norfolk or close in the beach?
Thanks
Oh and I searched for a/c but it was too short and conditioning turns up nothing.

I don't know have anyone to recommend to you off the top of my head.
However I will say to be sure they use dye and then take it back and have it checked out later.

The porsche guys speak nothing but praise about DUracool and I have some in teh garage. I just want them to test my system to ensure that it is holding pressure.
When i turn it on teh compressor turns on.
I assume thats a good thing.

what do you need done? are all the parts working? are you not sure? are you r134a? are you low are refrigerant? did you try putting some in? how long have you been without a/c? has the system been open? sometimes there is a small leak somewhere is it just slowly leaks out over time. but yeah, more info needed!
personally i put in a used system w/ all new o rings, expansion valve, dryer/receiver, valve stems. and has Cser do the refrigerant stuff. $80. pretty good deal considering all the major shops were $34-40 just to look at it plus $100 to pull a vaccum and charge the system.

that's a very good thing. Does your compressor cycle on and off. If it does then you have a low charge. Your car is most likely R-12. I be carfull adding other blend of refrigerants to that system. Most shops will probably tell you to get a retro fitkit and which over to r134a.
If is working fine then just get a check up on it. I would never mix refrigerants with the original stuff. Never know what will happen. G/L

Bill Smith's in newport news. They are the best I know in the area, and they can make high pressure hoses in house. But then again they aren't close.
