Default F4i fairings ?

Im wondering if anyone here knows the best place to get all new plastics for my 02 F4i. Ive looked at ebay and the best price im seeing is about 460 shipped for aftermarket thats primerd. The only thing that is worring me is the "professional installation recommended" part on the auction. Should the aftermarket plastics fit the same as the oem? Also has anyone painted their tank? Im pretty sure that the decals are under the clear and im not sure how much this complicates the sanding process before getting new paint. Any info is appreciated!

you should get the ones already painted but make sure it matches your gas tank b/c those fairing sets dont come with gas tanks.

Or just have your tank stripped, resealed, and repainted along with all the new plastics.

Im thinking im going to go with getting just a all new paint scheme. Just get the primered parts from ebay and redo my tank and undertail in the matching color. I was thinking of doing a "Monster Energy" theme.

the rule of thumb with aftermarket parts is that they NEVER fit like oem. some are better than others, but none fit like factory replacements. the tolerances just aren't the same. there's a reason why it says "professional fitment recommended". usually because there's some trimming/shaping, and drilling of mounting holes required. it's not hard, but it does take time, and patience, if you want it to fit like oem. also, if it's fiberglass panels, just because it's primered, doesn't mean it's ready to paint. every fiberglass piece i've seen required alot of smoothing to get a really good paintable surface. if you just paint it as is, you're gonna have alot of ripples and waves in the bodywork. not trying to burst your bubble, just giving you a heads up so there's no "wtf???" moments later down the road.
