ive had an Optima red top in the Formula for about 2.5 years now, and it just started leaking from the neg terminal.. they have a 3 year free replacement for them, but i dont remember where i bought it from... so im looking for a hookup. its BS that a $150 battery is leaking already

 

Just go to Auto Zone and ask.

 

i did. you have to be in their computer. i told them i didnt understand why, since it has the warranty no matter what...

 

how can a optima leak for one its a soild battery no gels or liquids in it.

 

i dont know. there was a bunch of corrosion on the neg terminal, and when i tried to take it off, it wouldnt even turn, and i could hear a hiss coming from the terminal if i put my ear to it... so its def leaking

 

still need it taken care of...

 

Go to any advance auto, just tell them you lost the receipt and you bought it from another store, chances are good theyll just replace it.

I say just get a new one, and set the old on to the side somewhere. Yeah, you will be out $150, but hey at least you won't have to worry about it anymore.

 

buy a new one set the one aside for a few weeks then return it... and sell the new one...
