actually,been to the manufacturing plant in york,pa a few times. ALL HARLEYS ARE LESS THAN 95DB FROM THE FACTORY PERIOD. the dealerships give the bikes their"signature sound" and as far as the 50 states legality,yes and no. it is mainly used as a label to pass the california air research board standards(emissions),not so much to make it"legal for sound levels in the united states" Now all greddy exaust systems(as i recall,) have a certification for decibel levels. my old exaust had this when i bought it. the sheet read"under 95 db" per the c.a.r.b and national research boards.greddy sport model for the 4dr gs-r. i would file a complaint personally. what is the sound curfew in your neighborhood??? check into that first. then you might have a leg to stand on.

not 100% but being that the law used to state stock or equal to.
if its shiny
bigger tip
larger diameter etc... illegal.
if old and rusty with 1" tip and even with a hole in it.. .You're good.
Cops are not going to let an import get away with it.. Called profiling which is not legal for cops to do however.. its fact.
