Default CR-X taillights won't turn off

Taillights on my 89 crx HF wont turn off. I have NO idea what to do or where to start looking for a problem. NO the headlight switch isn't on.

any ideas?

i had the same problem with my ef. take the bulbs out and look inside the houseing things. You might have built up corosion *sp*, get like a wire brush or something and clean it out. Put the bulbs back in and see if its still doing it.

take off the battery and then put it back in when you need to go somewhere

Now I know you said taillights but are you sure it's the taillights...or is it the brake lights that stay on? Because that is easy to fix.

Could be a bad Brake lamp switch.

It could be a sticking brake light switch, if you happen to need one. I have three of them.

no no no to all that.

Your problem is the little plastic pedal stopper is broken. The stopper is located on the brake pedal assy where to switch meets the pedal. You'll see a hole (now) where a plastic stopper should be. Go to Honda and ask for PAD, PEDAL STOPPER P/N 46505-SA5-000
It should only cost you $2
