You could save yourself a few hundred by picking up a Taurus PT1911 and getting all those features (minus the target sights). You could add a MSH/magazine well for like $40 and those sights for around $50.
Mind you, that S&W seems like a good weapon, but I'd be willing to bet that you'd like the Taurus just as much and the opportunity to spend a few hundred dollars somewhere else.
If you do want a 1911 that I would gladly spend a grand on you might want to check out some of the Sig GSR 1911s.
