I think many might be a bit of a stretch. I'm guessing a handful at best.
If someone wants to take some decents shots of a vehicle, ala a photoshoot and has some text to go along with it I'm all for putting it in a gallery of some sort similar to the "ride of the month" we had way back when.
You are 100% correct. It is also one less things for moderators to look over, before mods had to make sure NWS content was tagged as such.
The hassle of creating another forum, setting up permissions, moderating something else ... or people could just post it in eye-candy

There's really ZERO hassle in setting up another forum for it. The only thing IMO that I could see admin's worrying about is moderation.......but there are already a few current mods who I am sure wouldn't mind adding another forum to the forums they already moderate.
Like I suggested too.........just lay down some strict rules, it should prevent any replies other than requested critisizm and critique.....

I am sorry to say, but this thread is fruitless. The staff wants absolutley nothing to do with the idea. I think that if there was a photography forum, it would start out as random photoshoots and whatnot, then evolve into something more eye-candy ish and have trolls everywhere. I don't think the staff wants to worry about that kind of hassle.

And not to be Debbie Downer towards any other forum, but dailyofftopic.com doesn't see anywhere remotely close to the amount of members in one week that log onto vadriven.com with a photog interest in one day. I've posted many picture threads over there, and gotten 2-3 replies at most. There are far more people into this hobby on this site, and even those who just like to look at peoples work.
I for one see nothing but success with it.......but it looks like its getting ignored by staff.......

Not ignored, but I've already said my piece on the matter.
To reiterate: I still fail to see how aside from making a forum for the clique of people that take photography seriously (which I still think is very small), how this couldn't be done in the current forums we have.
