Redline Time Attack - Summit Point, WV September 29th-30th
These companies that spend $$$THOUSANDS$$$ to race in NASA Honda Challenge or SCCA and get VERY LITTLE if ANY media coverage of their vehicles and practically ZERO return on their investment should come here, win one race and get more coverage TOTAL than they have ever received in years of racing in these other series. ;-)
It beats me....
I too am surprised with how few FWD cars we have sign up for these events. Look at the Unlimited FWD division... 1 or 2 cars. That is pretty pathetic considering how many FWD race cars are out there (SCCA, NASA, etc).

Theres alot of NASA and SCCA events going on, especially with the Run-offs and the NASA Nationals, plus the last NASA MA event is two weeks after at Summit. Might be hard for them to budget it.
Big thanks to the Get-Fast crew for making this crazy event a safe one. I broke as expected, but I bummed a few rides for the rest of the day, so I had fun.

regarding hondas.
the rules say only H4 cars are eligible for Modified class.
so any H1, H2, H3 car is in unlimited? they have to contend with 500hp awd and rwd cars.
also all honda challenge cars run on Toyo RA1 which would be a Modified Class tire. i don't think many of them are going to go out an lay out $700 for some Hoosier R6's or other <50 treadwear tires for a single event, just in order to be more competitive in Unlimited class.
i think the tire rule is the main limitation for Redline time attack. what about a little old CSP Crx, original D16A6 engine, with 130hp, and some Hoosier A6/R6, kumho V710 .
the car would automatically be in Unlimited because of the tires.
why not have a rule where you can run a stickier tire in Modified class, as long as (no forced induction, no Engine swap).
that way some of the lower HP cars can be competive with the Engine swap and Forced Induction cars which would have to run >50 treadwear tires.

Because that would take away what the time attack is all about.( diversity) Once u start introducing all these limitations... It turns people away. Horsepower doesnt mean much anyways. I had no problem passing a twin turbo Z and an RB26det 240sx, as well as several s2000's and WRX's..... in my 133whp xA.
