I predict... in 5 years from now, the kid who didn't whine and complain is going to kick the shit out of the lil crybaby and take his lunch money and then bang his girlfriend.

I agree with both sides of the argument, however.

Yes, this was completely voluntary and the kid should've been like "hey, my right kidney isn't feeling too good, can we switch sides or somethin? I'm pretty much done..."

THEN AGAIN, the kid is 11. He doesn't know any better. His peer pressure (wanting to impress the other kids) got the best of him and caused physical harm to his internals. If it happened to me, I would take the kicks and probably go a little too far myself and pay for it later and chalk it up as a lesson learned. He, on the other hand, could have been more seriously injured than he could have possibly knew at the time, and she's lucky he didn't let her keep going and end up with a more serious medical problem.

Let's say an 11 year old goes out to eat by himself, just got out of school and wants to pick up some hot wings... if he buys some ridiculously spicy wings drenched in a habanero sauce and then dies choking on the shit because he couldn't handle it, who's fault is it?

Everyone adopting this point of view needs to get real and shut the fuck up. "I'm such a badass i would have taken 300 kicks to the stomach, omgz!" I don't think at age 11 you would shrug off 200 kicks to the stomach as "oh, lesson learned...avoid situations where broken ribs and internal bleeding may occure". Alot of this is "well IF i were in that situation...blah blah blah....dick flexing...." but the bottom line is you weren't in that situation and don't seem to be readily volunteering to be put into it. It's the tough guy, bullshit attitude that probably kept that kid going inspite of severe injuries. I just think it's rediculous how being stoic is the "cool thing to do" and god forbid you actually show any sympathy in any situation, at all...ever.

If a CHILD died from choking on a obviously dangerous food product i would place blame with the individual who sold it to him in the first place. People are giving kids way too much credit, they're fucking kids....they don't know any better and at age 11 they really shouldn't have to know better (i'm waiting for someone to tell me they've been on their own since they were 13 and kids need to man up at age 12). They are children who need the guidance of responsible adults. It's the responsibility of a competent adult who's child is put in their temporary care to exercise a modicum of judgement and not put them in the hospital.

 

maybe this kid didn't feel like getting short changed or deprived from his education that his parents are paying for.

 

Its not like the kid decided to start bleeding internally, if he was in killer pain that comes with such an injury he's no pussy. Everyone's a badass behind the keyboard

 

Kids get too much credit?? There are kids that are trained to kill the "good guys" over in the middle east, and I think it's wrong when our kids should be able to take a little rough housing? It is ridiculous that kids can't be disciplined appropriately by their parents because now its "child abuse"; kiss my ass, and I'm not sure who is exactly "flexing their dick." I'm taking heat in this thread because the tree-huggin' hippies want to dance around a fire and sing songs to solve the problem and the bad guys and the gang members are raising their sons to destroy us, I have no qualms with raising my son to be a tough little son of a bitch. I just hope he makes a difference in this world and doesn't sit behind a computer screen and waste his fucking life.
