ticking noise in a 2001 escort zx2
whenever i drive my sisters car, there is a ticking noise when im driving coming from the engine. its not all the time , but it happens a lot, especially when i get into higher rpm's
You need to be more specific as to the problem:
-is there a loss of power when the ticking occurs?
-is the noise internal or external to the motor?
-is the ticking dependent on vehicle speed or only engine RPM?
-does the tick occur when the vehicle is cold, warm or both?
The best way to trace a tick is using a long screwdriver or mechanic's stethoscope.
