thats another thing.I dont want a brand new car.I dont want to be labeled as yet another dumb military guy that rides around with a brand new car that he spent almost his whole fortune on.And on the same hand..paying for an 07,you might as well get a used STI..they are probably in the same price range.

well, after thinking about it,and using a little more common sense, ive decided to just get an STI. the only reason I wanted the lower WRX model,is to have 70% of the car payed off,on down payment alone (since the BBV of the wrx's is between 15k and 18k).But then I thought about it,and Im only 21,and need to build credit anyway,so I figure id get something I really wanted, with more power, and a better platform to build towards my goal realistically, and with more reliablity.

start with an STI no doubt. You'll spend that extra 5k twice making a normal WRX just as reliable. I don't own a subbie but as much as im around them i mite as well.

Also if your not coming back for 6 months, pricing can and will drop some more. Look for deals, and dont be scared to travel to get a car. Once you get it go to all aspects and get a baseline and discuss somethings with kienan on what you want to do. Tell him your goal with the car, he'll share his opinion.

Get what you want and what you can afford gradually. Sure it would be more cost effective to start with an STi in the long run. But if starting with an STi in the long run means you're flat broke in the short run, where does that take you? I'm going to have my fox for goddamnever, and I've already spent $7k including the car, and all it is is a 5 lug foxbody. I could have just started with a 94-95 GT and had the 5 lug disc brakes from the factory, but I didnt.

Its easier to spend $500 10 times than it is to spend $5000 one time.

You're talking about different cars, though. He's talking about the same car (same year and same year), but for about $2k more, he gets a lot more car. I paid $18,500 for my '04. Deals are out there if you want to travel/save money.
