All of our friends met up in front of hollywood video to share our respects. Its where Dave always calls us around 8-9 o clock on the week days to go get gas at Sunoco right next to it because it was the cheapest one in our area... We would talk, hang out, smoke cigarettes, share some laughter and that would always get our minds off the stressful days at work. It got to me really hard when the night before his incident, he treated me at a resturaunt and i found out about it while eating at the same place again. He was always passionate with everything he did. Automobiles, computers, work....everything you name it. He was selling his EVO so i could help him build a RB26 240 and we would work on it together. Next month as soon as I get back from Thailand, I was supposed to work with him and plan our own small I.T business. He had just finished ordering his business cards too. Dave had many big goals he wanted to accomplish and I believed in him. He would call me every single day to ask for suggestions. It sucks real bad since i cant make it to his funeral or wake. I just left yesterday and now im in Tokyo waiting for my connecting flight. We made plans to go with other friends this summer also. Rest in peace Dave.

Meet the guy a couple of times. I hope you feel better Joey, I know its hard to lose a firend RIP Dave.

I still disagree.
With everything the state will stack on he will be looking at more time than a drunk convicted of manslaughter.

So if I street race you and my motor blows up, are you gonna pay for it??
Didn't think so, difference in level of loss and consequence, but same concept.

I actually know the answer to this. Topic came up in my business law class at mason. So here it is...

If a driver does something that contributes to an accident, even if it was NOT his fault per say, he is guilty. Ex: If driver A is rearended by driver B. A will also be guilty if he was speeding at the time of being rearended.

ps. My professor is a kick-ass lawyer in both Fairfax and Stafford.

From a lawyer's prospective...you wouldn't want to take this to court because you would both be charged with street racing, reckless driving, etc. But if you had a good lawyer...

man.. i'd feel so guilty if i was that BMW driver. and from the looks of it they are friends.. imagine if you and a fellow car buddie were having a 'friendly race' around the beltway.. and you both are going 100mph+.. and ur friend is in the wrong lane (exit lane) and nails a tree and you just keep going.... wouldn't you wanna turn or go back to see if you can help ur friend. i'd turn myself in.. im sure all their mutual friends are freaking out too

I look at in two ways.... when a person dies not of natural causes in many people minds "someone must pay". That being said we are all gonna pay.............

Even if the BMW driver turn himself in more and more modded cars will be and continue to be targeted.

From the look of it he was not "dying"

Why whould the BMW driver fell bad? If he did nothing to cause the crash I wouldnt feel bad if I was him. Why would the BMW driver turn him self in because someone made a bad choice and or did not have the skill to keep the car on the road???

I have street raced many times. I know the limit of me and my car. The day he crashed it was wet and or raining, not a good choice. Thats what it comes down too, it was just a bad choice. BUT I dont think the BMW driver should pay for the EVO drivers bad choice. Yes they were both racing but one took it too far and made a bad "choice"

I have never been in a crash and I hope I dont. i try damn hard not to do dumb shit when its not safe. No matter, if we all drive with in our limits giving the weather we might all be around a little longer

I don't think the BMW driver should be punished either since they both willingly raced each other, but unfortunately that is not how the law works.

But i don't agree with you about how the BMW guy shouldn't feel bad. I guess it just comes down to the common value of life. If you and I were to race and you wrecked during the race, I would definitely make sure you're alright. That's just how I am though. I guess it all comes down to the person.

I understand what your saying. I belive I would of stopped if I saw the guy crash. Whos to say he even knew. If the evo to the exit the m3 may have thought the race was over and never looked back. There were trees

Yea. So many possibilities of what could've happened.
