What would be the requirements for me to go there and pick up a handgun. SS#, drivers license??????? I'm thinking either a 9mm or .40cal handgun.
Fill out two forms, background check and something for the State Police saying you're not a felon and whatnot. Two forms of ID, one being a picture, and both having your current address on them. A drivers license and a checkbook would work.
There is a LONG wait at the gun shows because so many people are trying to buy guns. At a regular store, you're looking at about 10min. wait. The gun show an hour sometimes.
If you already know what you want, show up when the doors open and try and be one of the first people in. We'll be there early if you want to go with us.

- 2 forms of ID with name and address.
- No missdameanors/felonies
- Haven't purchased a firearm in last 30 days (unless you hold a CCW)
- 21+
- pass background check
I've used Driver's License and Blank Check
(but could also use hunting/fishing license, utility bill, vehicle registration) both IDs have to have exact name and exact address and one has to have your picture.

You'll need something that show's you've established a residency in the Commonwealth of Virginia and two photo IDs.
Also, go with something in .40S&W and with a double action trigger. Handle a Walther P99 while you're there. It may be what you're looking for if you're okay with a polymer weapon.

That's not entirely true. I bought both my Colt Combat Commander and AK-47 at gun shows and my background check came back within 10 minutes.
