Good product to clean intake manifold
Yep - Have it hot-tanked, then put it in an ultra-sonic cleaner for a while. Will break it up nicely, since you're taking it off. Any good machine shop should have both of those items available.
I noticed you said to hot-tank it.
But hot-tanking tends to leave a good bit of residual build-up as far as the carbon that gets on an intake/valves/etc. With a valve (hard material) this can be cleaned with a wire wheel. With aluminum, the best way to remove it is with a very strong carb cleaner, or to ultrasonically loosen it. Ultrasonic has less risk of destroying the surface of the metal, and other parts, so for this application it's the best secondary operation. And, IMO, a must!

Believe it or not, a Dishwasher, using a strong degreaser (powerful dishwashing detergent, Dawn, or Simple Green) on Pots and Pans, with the water heat cycle, is quite similar to hot-tanking the product!
Unfortunately, finding an ultrasonic cleaner big enough for an intake at your local store is a bit difficult! Usually, they're used for jewelry.
