that's a very good point. i guess that would be the limit btwn a riced out car and a show car. i didn't mean to talk about the nice looking cars with kits. more of the ugly ones, haha. maybe it was just the way i was introduced to rice. i always saw it as mods that did nothing for performance. example: cut springs *cough, marshall *, tips (rahter than catbacks), aluminum wings on fwd (well that can be debatable. wings do help fwd, but at higher speeds), etc. you get my drift. sure, if you have a nice body kit, that's commendable. i love to look at nice looking cars. but oh wellz. to each his own, hehe.

like i just mentioned, i have nothing against looking good. and no, i didn't go one way because of lack of funds. i'm doing so because i want a clean-looking car. if i were to get anything else, i'd just get some kouki s14 sideskirts and rear bumper to give a better look, but i don't think i'd want a car with a full body kit or an wing. i don't want to attract too much attention to my car from either cops or thieves. that's just me tho. i want my car to perform rather than attract attention.

id like to think that performance and looks are =.

nobody should neglect either...and if we all had our way..we would all excel in both. but outside influences inhibit our ability to perform both aspects. like $$$

even performance parts can be ricey too because rice is a relative term. always has been...and always will be.

 

my point was this...its stereotypical ricer mentality to see a car w/ a body kit, wing, paint job, and nothing else. Hell maybe even some useless 20" rims on a civic. I agree a blend of both is ideal (this is what i shoot for in my cars) but to neglect performance just to have a bodykit or something is horrible i think.

How many of us have seen the cars w/ the body kits and still on stock rims, stock pipe, etc etc.

i think horrible is a very appropriate word for kits with stock rims.... unless they are swirlies or si's.... (for us honda guys).... c'mon, everybody likes swirlies and si's.... just dont joke my integra when i put my winter wheels on... its only cuz i like my good ones
