maaco paint job?
Paint jobs are like relationships.. its good to change it up every year or two. For 1g.. you can afford to
The other option is pay the 5-10k for a real paintjob and keep it for life. With the crazy ass (insert your most bias slur here) drivers in NOVA... you'll most likely get hit before then anyway.

they dont primer or do shit to the car. they throw paint over the existing service with little to no prep. i have never seen a decent maaco job that lasted more than a year or 2 with out peeling or chipping
so to those of you that say your paint job was perfect and has lasted...either thats the truth and you got EXTREMELY lucky with that particular shop or you dont have a clue what a real quality paint job looks like and you think if its all one color and its shiny and cleans up good, then its a quality job
and thats not the case at all

maybe the case but it really also depends on the shop...you can't generalize all maaco shops just because you seen a car that was painted at one shitty maaco...ive seen a couple of shitty maaco shops but have yet to see a crappy paint job from the one in ffx...even a friend of mine who did NO body/prep work on his car got his car back pretty good...but like i said to the original thread starter, for what its worth, go to the one in fairfax...
the ones around here in 757 that have seen in person...pretty much all looked like crap and within a year or 2 have peeled in some spot or had terrible orange peel or sags in the paint.
but if you want you car to look decent or better than it does at that point while you save up for better in a year or so. Maaco would be a good choice.
but to the op, if thats not what your plans are. spend a little extra for the better quality paint job. youll be happier in the long run when your paint still looks fresh after more than 2 years
Primer your car before you go there then...simple. I've seen some decent and some crappy maaco jobs in the 757. If you prep your car before you hand it to them, you shouldn't have a problem. Atleast it'll be better then a rattle can.
im sure it didnt last long though right?

those guys need to come down and give lessons on decent car refinishing then haha
but i guess for a $200-300 job its not a bad deal to get you by. like purebreed said its much better than a rattle can or scratched and faded paint..or the ever so popular clearcoat peel

I had a door and front bumper redone on my car years ago, no probs. It does have orange peel, I'm not sure whats up w/that. But I see new cars w/oragne peel. Overall I say they do decent jobs.
