Weight Reduction help...
power steering, AC, every seat aside from your own, anything that has fabric on it, seat belts, everything related to the dashboard that's not needed to hold your steering column in place, hole saw to interior aluminum, window motors, window cranks, windows, spare tires, spare bolts, any braces, any supports, springs, buy smaller tires, your exhaust system, your intake system, replace the gas tank with a fish tank, spin the dizzy, that'll get you started. i've done this setup to a few cars and it took me from the mid 16's to the low 14's before i spent a dime on a performance part
edit: and scrape that shit glued to yer floorboard, and sand any paint off that will never see the elements.

If your brother has a supercharged Tibby, and you have a boosted Tibby (turbo?), just turn up the boost a little bit or find some efficiency somewhere (tuning maybe?). Stripping out a street car is lame, and adding a few extra HP is more worthwhile than losing all of your interior and creature comforts.
Make sure you have some light wheels, good tires, and a light flywheel. Lighter flywheel is cheap acceleration, so are light wheels. Good tires will let you put all the HP you make to the ground, obviously. Make the most of what you have before you go nuts getting rid of everything that isn't welded down..

You can always try SCC's method of getting a car to produce faster times...

I took this from sr20-forum.com, and these number are for the classic (B13) Sentra. That would be 91-94 Sentras, as well as 91-93 NX2000's, so obviously the weight numbers are going to be a little different. This should give you the basic jist of what you can remove to lose weight.
And the original link if you want to inviestigate yourself...there's more weight reduction tips there. Hope this helps!
