ok so even if he was trying to run ou couldve and then if it turned out to be a cop it wouldve been entrapment. whihc you wouldnt get arrested or a ticket for.

You've been watching too many movies. If you get suckered into breaking the law, you've still broken the law. You just got suckered into it. If the ricer civic was a cop, and the guy raced him, that's still breaking the law. You would have driven 2 miles down the road and some other idiot would have tried to run you then. The only difference is that one is a cop and one isn't.

Basically, if a cop persuades you to break the law doing something you wouldn't ordinarily do, that could be considered entrapment. If you happen to break the law while a cop is participating in something that you would have done anyway, that's not entrapment. You have to be convinced to do something, you can't just be a victim of circumstance.

People think that just having a cop involved is entrapment, its not...you simply got busted by a cop because you weren't smart enough to walk away. If you buy weed from an undercover, its not entrapment. If you pick up an undercover hooker, not entrapment. You would have bought the weed or picked up the hooker regardless, you just happened to get busted by an undercover.
