Basically, if a cop persuades you to break the law doing something you wouldn't ordinarily do, that could be considered entrapment. If you happen to break the law while a cop is participating in something that you would have done anyway, that's not entrapment. You have to be convinced to do something, you can't just be a victim of circumstance.
People think that just having a cop involved is entrapment, its not...you simply got busted by a cop because you weren't smart enough to walk away. If you buy weed from an undercover, its not entrapment. If you pick up an undercover hooker, not entrapment. You would have bought the weed or picked up the hooker regardless, you just happened to get busted by an undercover.
