need car painted!
yeah hopefully, thats what i was doing for like the first month and a half...but after getting blown off and getting the run around i'm resorting to this. i just dont want anyone else to get a bad paint job. its funny too, because i remember a thread awhile ago i was saying that some side painters can do just as good a job as a shop...WRONG. but w/e car is still sick.
Sorry to hear about your crappy experience with that other guy, like said before give him a chance to fix it, ONCE. if he doesnt come through than you should continue with the legal action.

all i'm saying is that i said it was ok if their was SOME orange peel and minor blemishes (none of that is stated in our contract) because its a track car first then daily driver. i'm not ok with an entire car of orange peel, fish eyes, gigantic runs, parts of the cage/door missing paint, the engine not prepped just sprayed (looks like a paint bomb went off, i said dont worry about the hard lines...dude straight sprayed everything), overspray on everything, car feels like 20grit, just sprayed over dust and gunk in the interior so the "paint" just wipes away. in his defense i didnt let him keep it to wetsand it (which he claims will fix everything but missing paint spots) due to my schedule...he said we'll do it when i'm done. now he's not answering calls or returning pm's. honestly i'm embarrassed to show the car to people and i hope i actually slide into a wall at an event so that they will notice that rather then the child like paint job. i gave him the benefeit of the doubt and held off on this so he can make the situation better "by fixing his blemisheds". now i'm taking legal action to get some of money back.
(hows that for some details lol)

yeah i was happy with it because i was under the impression alot of the shit would wetsand/buff out and he was going to do it...but now he's dodging me and ignoring me. thus not making good on his end by wetsanding it. (btw i didnt rush him i just didnt let him keep it longer for the wetsand)
I see. well that's shitty he didn't keep up his end of the deal.
Auto Elite out in Va Beach does good work-i would go by a few places and get some estimates and see some work prior to settling. Hope it gets corrected.

As for you trying to contact me for the last month and a half, you picked your car up on 2/9/08 (the day after paint=no time to buff it before you got it). I have spoken to you several times and just because I couldnt make your schedule, now Im the bad guy?? This just goes to show that you cant please everyone.. The funny thing is that when you picked up your car, you loved it and were thrilled w/ it.. Now that your getting info from others your having this issue.
I offered to go that extra mile, on my schedule (i do work a full time job, have a family, house, etc...). But how about your end of the deal? Our contract was to only "scuff and shoot".. Correct? It also states that all body work was to be done prior to dropping the car off. Was it? No. YOU were supposed to remove everything in the engine bay, etc. However you didnt and it was under the agreement that i wasnt going to tape off all of the hard lines or any of that.
This could go on and on but to make a long story short, I:
-did all/most of the body work(not in the contract)
-did all the prep work(not in the contract)
-removed all of the graphics off the car(not in the contract)
So basically I did all the work you were to have done.
I then sprayed your roof and cage one color, and then did your jams, interior sheet metal, and outer body another. I also charged you 1/3 - 1/4 of the amount other places told you... And now Im the bad guy because you loved it when you picked it up and now I cant jump on it right away(when its convenient 4 u) to do something extra.
Let me ask you this. If you did not like it, why did you pay the balance? And why did you offer me more money because you liked it so much the day of? C'mon man, I tried w/ you but because our schedules conflict each others, dont come on here and bash me. I even offered to respray your car and you said no it will be fine after a wet sand and buff.. Lets be real
Sorry for typing so much in the OP's thread, this is just a bunch of B.S. and I had to chime in and say something..
