I really wanna take my car to the track but I have never been. Anyone have any constructive advice for a first timer? I'm afraid of making a fool of myself and doing something stupid....that is the only thing keeping me from going.

Dont launch in reverse
go around the water if you have FWD and do a small burn out to clean your tires if you want. Make sure you stage correctly giving the other person time to line up. Line up untill you see 2 yellow lights bla bla bla, go on green, hall ass unless you pass the 1/4 marker. I usually go all the way to the end of the track unless your car is slow you can take the first turn off.

Dont make that a deciding factor not to come, everyone had to do it their first time.
The BEST thing you can do is WATCH the other racers very closely the first few times with someone who can explain, step by step, what the person is doing. the only thing that can be a little bit difficult is finding the staging beams, but watching the other people light the pre-stage and stage bulbs will help greatly.
