RE050s sound like they're a little low on tread life too.

I'm still waffling between the MXs and the RE760s. They're about the same price, both sound like great value. I'll get a lot more life out of the RE760s, that's for sure, and they're supposedly excellent in the rain. But the traction of the MXs for the price....

That's why I asked how many miles you're hoping to get. We got about 20k miles out of the set on the S2000. S2000s have a fairly aggressive alignment, but they were a lot of highway miles.

I still haven't got around to ordering anything, too busy with the end of the semester. Maybe tomorrow if I get a chance, I really need to get off of my WinterSport 3Ds with the weather getting warm.
All the max performance models are too damn expensive for what you get, given that you can step up to extreme perf rated models for less money. That's why I'm so torn.
I'm still looking at the RE760s, Ecsta SPTs, R-S2s, S.Drive, and the MXs. Still waffling on tread life vs. performance, which probably rules out the R-S2 and the MX.

What have you heard about tread life for the R-S2s?

Treadlife on the R-S2's is marginally better than the azenis.

I just bought a set of S.drives for the daily, don't know much about them so far, I've only put ~300 miles on them and I'm on 2 blown shocks in the daily I think.

Also, like I pointed out in another topic, tires-easy.com is having a sale on the SPT in certain sizes. I know the 205/50/15's were like, $45.

Hope that helps.

I found it, that douchebag with the VW that wrote a tirerack review for the Yoko Parada Spec2s:

The longevity however, was very impressive. Braking was solid, rain performance was higher than expected, and they look pretty cool. Cornering leaves some to be desired, they slide fairly easily, but they are semi-predictable, so at least you know when you are going to spin. Not loud at all in my opinion. For the price, these are a very good tire. I am willing to pay more for my next set for better performance, so I will not be buying them again.
Someone should educate this guy on what a LSD actually does.
