a BMW isn't meant for drag racing......it's also not meant for highway roll drag racing either.that was my point.
besides, beating on a car on a roadcourse is way harder on it than any kind of drag racing,so it's a moot point.
sooooo, when are you bringing it to a track day?
Chris
I see where you're coming from, but you do know BMWs are top end cars, as are most every other European sports car. Thus, it's way more appropriate to start at 50+mph than at 0 mph. It's much less stress on the car. At the strip (8th mile), you cut the car off right when it begins to shine - thus it's high trap speeds and sucky ETs. On the highway, you start where it shines and carry it out. I'm not trying to argue one is better than the other, but I'm just not up for going from a dig in a BMW, generally.

A road course is harder on the car's brakes, tires, etc. But less things are prone to 'snap' if you're moving vs. stopped then abruptly moving. All those things are wear out items. Axles, trannys, etc., aren't necessarily things you want to keep going through.

I may go to one of the BMW track days at some point, but right now I don't have the time. So until then, this car is just my weekend toy for the backroads.
