Why is this such a difficult thing to do yourself? I dont know about you guys, but if i paid somebody to work on my car every time i needed to, i would be in a hole of debt i couldnt get out of.

Totally understandable. I know exactly how you feel but once you do it once or twice you know what your doing.

Also looking for help with this sort of thing, though I have a garage, tools, etc. Though I too, don't feel like fucking up my car, I can just help get the job done faster. Mine isnt a daily driver, so a little here, little there if you're a busy mechanic. One thing I dont have is an engine hoist, and I want to do a complete overhaul over the next few months.
