"technically", meaning by the law book, if you're riding during the day, you don't need a brake light. (left hand out and down, opposite of a right turn, is the signal for "brake") though i don't reccomend it. most drivers don't know hand signals for turning, let alone braking. AAAAND, most cops don't even know the law codes on that, so you can and probably will get stopped and ticketed for it. ask me how i know.....

it's not a bad idea to look up the law codes for speedo's, signals, lighting, etc, and keep a copy taped under the seat or something in a zip-loc. like i said, most cops don't know the laws. can't expect them to know EVER SINGLE LAW, so if you can prove you're not breaking a law, you'll save yourself the hassle of going to court to prove your innocence.
again... ask me how i know...lol

and for what it's worth, in va, state inspection laws and vehicle equipment requirement laws don't always meet eye to eye. according to DMV, you must have an odometer to keep tabs on mileage, but VA inspection laws make no note of it anywhere.

va's vehicle laws on cars are rediculous, but they're actually pretty slack on motorcycles.

Turnsignals are only required to work if they are on the bike. If they don't work, then take them off. If they aren't on there at all, then don't worry about it...they aren't required.

Here's a couple places you can look up the legalities of pretty much any laws and codes in VA

http://leg1.state.va.us/
http://legis.state.va.us/Laws/CodeofVa.htm

This is always fun to look up how many tickets you have!!!

Here are a couple pics of how it sits now

Found some CL350 pipes that I wanted, just need to heat em up and bend a bit, and lengthen them

Ordered a 33 ford tail light the other night, I don't want to get hit, lol, I'm all for necessary lights, I just don't see turn signals as necessary, and it's not like they add a shit ton of visability anyway.

And don't I know it in regards to vehicle laws, I drive this
