There were two people shot at a little drug store today in a suspected pharmaceutical robbery. How pathetic is that? Someone lost their life because someone wanted pills... and the other is supposedly in critical condition at Roanoke Memorial. I think that place was robbed last year too if I'm not mistaken.

I hate hearing about shit like this happening in Roanoke.

 

WTF, that is terrible. How many homicides have we had in the Roanoke Valley this year? Seems like there have been alot and its only July.

Atleast the man dead is the one that was holding the store up. Hopefully the injured employee will pull through ok.

Apparently the ones in SE Roanoke do. That or they take the gun from the robber and use it back on them.

This one has been robbed in the last year or two at least once... so I can't really blame them.

It's really not in a bad area either IMHO. It's sort of on the border of lower income areas but the store itself is in a pretty safe area. I just can't understand the mentality of someone who would go into a pharmacy with a gun demanding either money or drugs.

 

Yeah, unfortunately it's happening more and more often. I hate the fact that the world is almost getting comfortable with the idea of murders and violent crimes happening local and it's almost expected.

 

So the one robbing the pharmacy was shot and killed by the clerk? If so, I would be interested to see if anyone tries to rob it again.

 

My father is a pharmacist in Blacksburg and he was robbed at gun point for drugs. They later caught them after they knocked off several other stores so it's not just Roanoke. This was back in the late 90's.

 

I wasn't implying that it's just us dealing with these things, but I just hate having bad things happen so close to home, figuratively and literally both.
