dont you hate 804
i've lived worked in various parts of richmond all my life, and it's not that bad. whatever age i was, i always had something to do in this town. if you think there's nothing to do in richmond, then the scope of the activities you're looking for must be very limited.
and vcu is a decent school. granted; there's no football, but that's whatever. you say anyone can get accepted into vcu? that's probably true, but less than a third of students graduate due to weed-out classes and because most people are unaware of the opportunities vcu can provide. that's why vcu has a fair amount of money in surplus to spend on buying property in richmond and renovating the school.
rydnlow: btw, you mentioned the greek community at vcu. are you greek by chance? not many people/students even mention vcu's greek system when talking about the school unless they are a part of it.

Before I graduated, I was president of Phi Kappa Sigma here for 2 years, which is currently still trying to become a full chapter. It was a good (and costly) experience and took a ton of my time. Being president and trying to manage graduating in 3 years is difficult but still worth it. Had a lot of good times.
Sidenote: A lot of people don't go to VCU because its the only school that accepted them or because "it's easy." I got into University of Richmond and W&M, but neither appealed to me (one being too expensive and the other being a different environment than I wanted.) UofR offered me 6 credits for my IB Diploma and i had to come out of pocket $42k a year...VCU gave me 27 credits, allowing me to graduate early, and it cost about 1/6 of that price. Plus, I grew up in Mechanicsville (went to Lee-Davis) and Henrico, knew tons of people that went to VCU and was down in the city A LOT senior year of HS. It was almost a no brainer when picking schools. My grandparents live in Williamsburg and I've lived there several years, so I grew up around W&M too...just didn't appeal to me as much as the fist city.

You must mean VCU between Cary and Broad. Northernside of Broad FTL.
I think the 804 is Ok, Henrico is just spotty as hell. Take Nine mile road for example, or Laburnum AVE. One minute your in a nice neighborhood, the next your in the fuggin' ghetto. Same for Chamb. Ave. too

and what the fuck is this "fist city" business? i've lived here for a majority of my life and never heard of this nomenclature.
LOL, Fist City FTW. I dont know where it came from. I was in HS and my boy Matt and I came down to a party at my friend Mark's. Someone yelled out "Fist City" and we kept it goin. I been saying for 3-4 years. No idea where it came from, drunk idea turned good i guess lol
