The business of modding cars is a rough one.

OP sounds as if you do have a rod knock, and yes,VIP garage is responsible for the damage since they did the oil change. However dont come into a thread whining for attention there is nothing us members can do for you.

Given that they damaged one of their biggest customers motors and lied to him about it to his face upon going to the shop to discuss for months until his motor was disassembled for a head issue that VIP could never fix, I highly doubt their is enough money to make it right from a business standpoint or much willingness to take responsibility for the damage if there is any, primarily for the first reason.

I think its good that he explained his situation, just can't warn enough people. Again, the guys that perform the work have nothing to do with getting the parts or making sure they are there the issue really stems at the top.

Maybe I missed something but i read nothing about the OP getting face to face with the shops owner

In which case I assumed this is how he intended to solve the situation,by flamming the shop on the internet, which is completely the wrong approach.

Yes, sadly assuming these days leads to terrible things. Before bashing the OP straight out for not attempting to communicate, possibly all attempts failed, and face to face altercation wasn't something he wanted. Not everyone wants to go toe to toe with a shop owner, I've seen that blow up and even been on the giving end of customers that just couldn't be pleased.

Im not bashing but by the looks of his post im not sure he know that the shop IS RESPONSIBLE,there a concept called small claims court if all else fails.

I think that's the best statement to make. They are responsible. If you make deadlines meet them. If you say the part is there, be ready to show the customer, everyone likes to look at shiny things, even if they aren't going on the car right then and there.

I was just contacted about this thread. I am not gonna come in here and fight with my customer, he's agood guy and we got a long really well. I will say that last thing I heard about this car was from the OP's father saying that it was geat and that he was very happy with it. I was never contacted about a fuel rail, coolant leak or the other things and even told his dad that if anything at all please call me so we can take a look at it right away and that ofcourse there would be no charge for anything like that. I was told about the exhaust making some noise but it was a problem before it even came to us and I offered to look at that for him at no charge as well.

I'm just a bit surpised. I tried calling AJ myself and will have to wait to hear back from him.
