Re: quick question..
I'm 18, turn 19 in October. I didn't get my permit because according to the motorcycle manual I picked up, "If you are under age 19, you must hold a motorcycle learner's permit for at least nine month regardless of the date the Virginia Rider Training Program is completed."
I talked to the DMV to figure something out. I will be taking my MSF course this weekend when I'm still 18. Once I turn 19 in October, I can automatically get the M license with proof of completing the MSF course.
If you are 19 or older when you complete the MSF course, according to the Virginia Motorcycle Operator Manual, "If you are age 19 or older, you can operate a motorcycle unaccompanied for a period of 30 days from the course completion. You must carry your Virginia driver's license and the Virginia Rider Training program completion certificate." If you want to continue to ride, just go to the DMV and exchange it for the license.
So with this being said, if you're older than 18, take the MSF course, then you can get your license RIGHT after that. No DMV testing involved. (maybe a vision screening?)
