And you are either broke, or a terrible golfer. 
If I wasn't at JMU I'd get us off at the Signature at West Neck, I live next to it.
Don't play anything worse than Red Wing...it's not worth the money to play a shit course. You can play Heron Ridge for a decent rate nowadays, and the same with Virginia Beach National...same rates due to same owners.
But, I'm here and playing beautifuly courses

Cypress Point is a cakewalk course. All you need is a 4 iron and a decent wedge game and you are golden. Not saying Red Wing isn't (you can spray and pray on most holes), but you will be having longer approaches thus making it harder.

Cypress Creek, and that course is ridiculously awesome, I think it is 4.5 stars and is only 30 to play during the week twilight... i think i dunno look at the rates. Def. worth the drive to smithfield.

...and yea bow creek is asscrack, i played there once and never went back, played redwing in march and it was really nice this time around. i really enjoyed herons ridge, it was super nice and we were the first ones out on the course that morning. Peaceful.

yea Cypress Point is probably the best course i've played. also hells point out in sandbridge isn't bad, decent sized course. i'm down to play let me know, maybe get a sunday morning tee time.............................Big D

I'm playing 18 this afternoon at Red Wing and then playing 18 more again out there tomorrow morning. I've got a tournament that I'm playing in next Friday. We're hoping to do pretty decent.
There'a s lot of nice courses in the Beach. Also check out Honeybee on Independence and Stumpy Lake on Indian River. Both are nice courses and aren't that expensive.
