2001 prelude stalling/bogging issue
the issues take place over about 4-6 months with them getting severely worse only in the past month or so.
for a long time my car has been stuttering while at part throttle, sometimes at full throttle. eventually i got some money together and bought some maintenance things and i was able to get them installed.
now, the car is even worse than it was before. it has gone from being intermittent to now being crap the past two days.
the car idles a bit rough and really low ~500rpm. if i rev it up, it will drop nearly to 0 and then idle back up to ~500rpm, which i hear is somewhat normal for this car (that it drops below and comes back up to idle). when i start moving in 1st gear, it bogs really bad until i get to a certain rpm and then starts moving somewhat normal.
the interesting thing is that if i keep it at part throttle, i can feel where it goes from running 'ok' to bogging out. i can't full throttle at any point w/o it bogging.
on the way home from work, it finally tossed a CEL, which i read with the paperclip method. it showed 5 flashes and according to a toronto prelude site, this means possible map sensor issue. luckily, the local advance had a sensor, so i got that and a pcv valve to replace that, too.
started it up after letting the ecu fuse sit out for 10 mins or so and i have the same issue. about 6-8 miles down the road, the CEL comes back on for bad map reading/map sensor.
i have recently replaced the following: timing belt, balance shaft belt, water pump, oil, spark plugs, plug wires, dist cap, dist rotor, primary and secondary O2 sensors, and now map sensor and pcv valve.
car has no engine mods aside from an AEM CAI with a dry filter.
thoughts? ideas? i can fill in blanks as needed.

Re: 2001 prelude stalling/bogging issue
just as an update, the car started having the issue again, though it wasn't as pronounced this time. it was bogging a bit when giving it more throttle.
it's at a shop close to here now and they're gonna check valves, egr ports, possibly injectors, and a couple other things. dropped it off sunday evening and still waiting for when it will be ready and/or what's going to fix it.

I had a similar issue with my bb6 bogging not as often as its happening to u. did pretty much everything tune up wise you've done to have it happen again. changed the distributor and it was fine for 2 days then it started bogging agai. I ended up figuring out that it was bogging as a result of bad gas (zooms) ...i put 3 gallons of 110 octane in the tank followed with a 93 octane top off. i haven't had any problems since.... (knock on wood) lol!

Re: 2001 prelude stalling/bogging issue
i only put 93 in it and i've been going to an exxon near my apt, so it's possible that its a bad gas issue...i haven't really tried going to any other gas stations, either. the wife's exploder gets gas from the same station usually, but only 87.

gotcha well yea I would try another gas station just to see I've only used shell and bp since. I've heard about coils going bad in prelude distributors. if u can pick up a tested working distributor and next time the bogging occurs switch distributors and see what happens....
