that was one of the best autocrosses I've ever been to, even though I spun the car like 4 times
the course layout was awesome!

I had a great time too! It was a really fast, fun course and the seat time was priceless. Thanks Junior for the course. I ran my S2000 this event and it felt great. I think they do best on nationals style courses. Having had the car only a few months I'm getting more and more confident with it each event.

Jon had the results up over night but they are down now, probably while they're finalized.

Thanks again for coming out, fellas!

And extra special thanks to Mike Jr. Johnson for that awesome course.

(For those who missed it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bw-DKHcBNhQ )

As for results... the raw times are up, linked from http://www.get-fast.net/nasacross/092808res.htm , but there are some things I need to adjust. Therefore please use them only as a guideline. Corrected provisional results should be up tonight.

FWIW the delay is because our registration and timing systems are both new. AFAIK they have never been used together by anyone else. Making them talk nicely to each other is not as easy as I expected. But as soon as we work the bugs out, we will be posting results online... from the event site before we leave. ;-)

Cool! You should have a blast. We're putting a little more time into the schedule for the freebie runs this time around... hopefully it'll be at least 2-3 runs, definitely enough to have some fun and get a feel for autocross.

Thanks for signing up,

Jon
Edit: don't worry about the car number if you're just doing the freebie runs. The registration will go through as long as you enter something there. We only need car numbers on cars doing the regular (not free) timed/scored runs. We don't record the times for the freebie runs in the computer, we just give your times to you on post-it notes.

And don't worry about the transponder number either, that's for our roadcourse events (although for regular autocross entries that's where you can request a heat at an event, when you register.)

You will get an email with all the details about the freebie runs a week or two before the event.

Thumbs up Re: Autocross at VMP, Sun Sep 28

Great course layout, best Auto-X I've experienced at VMP. Thought the Civic would be at a disadvantage for lack of horsepower after seeing the course during the walk, but the course ended up having a great balance of horsepower vs handling requirements. Smooth execution by the staff, every one got 9 runs and we still finished up early!
