first the antenna has to be mounted to the roof securely.
it must also properly grounded as to prevent any unwanted property damage from lightning.
depending on the condition of the existing cable i may be able to use that along with a diplexer on each end to achieve the desired hd local channels. if not then i will have to run a separate rg6 coax into the house to the hd box. your hd box does have a usb port on the rear correct? depending on which antenna you got i would have to aim it to get the best hd signal. much like peaking the dish to get the highest signal from the sat. im thinking between $150-$250. the direct tv contractors would charge much more. im also positive that i can find problems with you current install as well. most techs dont give a shit. i have the bird dog meter that is used to peak the dish to get the best signal also. which antenna did you get? make and model #?

well, I came home today and I now get all the local channels in HD through Directv!!!! So now I have no need to install the antenna, I will be selling the antenna now. Thanks though.
