Misfiring after running out of gas
I own a automatic 95 Jaguar XJ6. I was on my way to work today when I ran out of gas. I put gas in the car, go to drive off and it bogs down really bad, wont get out of 4th gear. Check engine light is on also. What happened? do I need to reset my battery? thanks in advance

Re: Misfiring after running out of gas
a lot of times if you are throwing a transmission code your tranny will lock you into the 1:1 gear as a limp mode. You will need to clear the code and make sure there are no other problems. As far as the car bogging down, thats probably because there is no kick-down when in limp mode...
