Where to take the lady for dinner? Upper Scale places
If you like Spanish quisine, id suggest my friends restaurant Ibiza in ghent, I havent been there but ive heard its good, and Tim (Sparkling Wiggle AKA WHEREZMYDD14) I think is the head chef there now
For Italian, go to Federicos on South Independence, it looks like a hole in the wall eatery, but the plates run $20+ and they have very good food
Do you have a certain type of food you guys like?

Its deff good. Lil pricey. deff upscale. Biggest draw for it to me is it can't be any closer......literally. The owner is cool as hell too.
Steinhilbers and Melting Pot suck, I'm sorry if you think they are "upscale".
Go to Smithfield Inn.
And there's already a thread here for this:

and it's been discussed to death if you do a little searching.

the Brays in williamsburg at kingsmill . check into i went there for prom and loved every min. me and my date with tip was under a hundred. or you if are close to yorktown their is a place called river walk restuant. i used to work there and it is a upscale place with a view of the river.
We figured at this point, fuck it.. lets chow down. We opened up with a lobster bisque (dance good) and oysters (on half a shell). Damn good.
I had the porterhouse medium -- damn close to perfection (this particular cut/quality/preparation) melted damn near as good as a medium rare Bison.. My wife had an Australian lobster tail (if you haven't had an Australian north warm water or cold water west -- you're missing out) -- absolutely perfect.
I don't remember what they had for a kid menu, I think breaded chicken strips (which of course I had to sample and they too were damn good as well for a kids menu item -- or the waiter suggested it as a kids menu item unsure if it really was). Though sounds like it will be just a nice evening with your wife and yourself so, thats irrelevant.
My Bday is Monday, I think I know where we'll go now.. <grin> I do wish they had Bison though.. I'm still searching for a place that knows how to prepare Bison right.
Less taps and more bottles in a constantly rotating selection
also some fine liquor. Taphouse, beir garden and crackers are constants for us with less beir garden these days.
I'd take Il G's (worked in their kitchen too) over Aldos any day but they are both kinda old fashioned. I prefer the portion size at Il G's but still prefer Fredricos down the street.
There are a number of good restaurants mentioned and it's all up to what you're in the mood for. A number are great at traditional fare but I just prefer something different. I forgot all about Bobbywood. We still haven't been to Huber's new spot but he's as talented as any restaurant mentioned and the old Bobbywood was a staple at Little Creek. I think that's where we'll be going tomorrow night. His Oyster Stew is incredible.

McCormicks in town center of Va Bch. Very nice in there. They also have privacy booths. Very upscale. In other words no ghetto people in there. Well at least i didnt see any.
Next weekend the lady and I are going to have an early Christmas celebration dinner. I want to go somewhere nice but not looking to dump Ruth Chris money, besides it is not that great to begin with. Just looking for a nice upper scale restaurant to eat at. I have been thinking about going to Bardo. I have not been there yet, but alot of you talk about how good the place is.
