Z28 Camaro a good Drifter?
Eh, I've owned 3 240's and been through 2 f-body Z28's.. I'm driving a 96 Z28 at the moment. When I think about it, it really depends on what you want out of it vs financial expenditures, because either one is going to need some mods to make it a decent drifting machine. Stock, a Camaro is going to have the power necessary for drifting, but it handles like a boat. Stock, a 240 is going to have the handling necessary for drifting, but not enough power to sustain your slides through the apex. A Z28 will burn through tires faster, the tires are wider and the LT1 / LS1 is putting out more torque. The 240 would also enable you for higher rpm, therefore giving you faster drifts. The KA24DE / SR20DET are both easier to work on inside the car. I could go on, but you could really do it with either. It's just a matter of style I suppose.
Personally, seeing a f-body drift is more laughable than cool. It doesn't seem to belong with imports drifting. It's like teaching Arnold Schwarzenegger Kung Fu and making a movie of it. It makes you ask, why?? Then you think about it... and, eh..

yes it does, it's the issue of having an open diff. Granted you wont be tearing sideways at 80mph but it's plenty enough to learn on/have fun with.
Yeah I don't think you'll be "tearing sideways" at 40mph either. Definitely something to learn on. Fun on the other hand, is a matter of opinion. But that's to the OP, I'm just giving my 2 cents.

another thing you should keep in mind, especially about the camaro, are tires. you're going to burn through them quick running around drifting, and with the camaro's tires being twice as wide, the'll cost at least 50% more each.
