A laptop I have has had a burned out screen for the longest time, but I still haven't done anything about it until now. Anyone here know how to/know someone that can do it? It's a HP laptop. The last time I checked, someone wanted to charge a whole lot more than the laptop is already worth now.

If I could get a price for both parts & labor I'd be very greatful. Thanks.

 

Had the same problem. I found the part on ebay for a lot cheaper than HP wanted. For a temporary fix a hooked up and external monitor. When I turned off the laptop monitor and left it off for awhile, it started working again the next time I tried it.

All I know is that it's burned out. Like, I have to hold a flashlight to it to figure out what screen it's on. It's been burned out for a good year or so. I've done the external monitor thing, but It sucks not being able to bring it anywhere.

Also, I have a new laptop so I put it off until just now when I remembered where I hid it, lol.

I'm honestly don't know what parts I need either.
