Re: BAE shipyard
Yea, it's cheaper to let them finish what they were paid to do by contract, then get it the hell out of there and do small stuff at the base.

Re: BAE shipyard

Re: BAE shipyard
let me clear some things up for you guys.
The Bush IS NOT "broke" the reason it was towed to NOB is because the work that is left can be finished pier side.
Sea trials are scheduled for some time and February (exact dates cannot be posted here) and the ship is actually scheduled for a 6 month deployment sometime this fall.
The BUSH is NOT the carrier intended to head to Florida, it is still up in the air as to which one will be moving.
The carrier will be finished by march.

let me clear up some things for you:
you have no idea the problems they've had with the reactors on that boat.... i worked both reactors and engine rooms on that boat for 3 years.... it is a shit box
and the bush will never make the deadlines.... some of the basic outfitting isn't even close to being finished
every boat that goes to norflok after NGNN goes with a few gangs of shipyard workers who finish up minor work that they didn't finish before the navy signed off on it. from what my old boss and some of the older guys have told me there has never been this much work that needed to be carried over on any other boats. this is also only the second boat ever that the shipyard has had to move to mandatory overtime to meet production dates.... im not going to say why i think that is... the apprentices would get upset j/k
