How about you fucking idiots leave the tailights the color they are supposed to be. No one wants to hear you crying about how you failed a SI over you being stupid for wanting your car to look "cool"

So much hostility over something so small. I was not crying over my tails, I was simply informing everyone of this new event that has occurred.

Sorry, but for some of us we do not have the option of 8 different styles of taillights like you Honda people.

Most of the laws in in place because of the massive amounts of complete idiots on the road..

Let me break it down for you:

Lightly tinted taillights:
probably ok.. probably don't alter/inhibit the light output, probably wont get you a ticket, and unless the inspector is really by the book, probably wont fail inspection.

Crazy OMG retarded tinited taillights:
fucking gay.. make it impossible half the time to see that you are infact hitting your brakes, most likely will be forgotten about when you come on here complaining you got rear ended by "some idiot" Probabaly(and rightfully so) will get you a ticket and will not pass inspection.

Most of the vehicle laws are in effect because people need someone to hold their hand and make sure they don't do something stupid because they aren't bright enough to do it themselves..

I've been a state inspector for 8 years now, and almost every car that gets failed is for something that is dangerous either to the driver, or another motorist. I've been working on cars at a dealership for 10 years, and know for a fact that the main reason people fix the truly dangerous things that are wrong with their car are because of that "bullshit" state inspection requirement.

So if not being able to "omg pimpz my ride" and have it pass inspection means that some asshole can't drive his 1982 shitbarge around with no working taillights, and half working brakes, than that is fine by me.

I have passed inspection with my tint for the past couple years. As well as had officers question them and I pointed out the law.

In the law it states tail light output requirements, go look them up before you try and make a claim. Damn man, ENG even posted the damn law in this thread.

As you can see, the previous law only talks about the light emitted color. Nothing about the housings. Well, now the law says the housings must be red with no other color added.
huh?.... are you a state inspector?

I think fc735 made him out to be a dumbass, so I doubt he will be doing more debating on topics he doesn't know.

apparently.

I must be foaming as well.

I have never seen nor heard of there being a difference between the Motor code and the SI code. Hell, I can't even find a difference while searching on the web.

Can someone explain to me how a state like VA, a state that has the good sense to have reasonably gun rights, is such a nazi state when it comes to cars? Guns and hot rodding go hand in hand. Quite frankly I view the inspection as an invasion of my privacy. If the car is unsafe, a cop will ticket me. If the car is safe, leave me be. This is why my dad in MD still owns the car I drive even though I've spent more on it than it's worth. Going 80 in a 60 is a Class 1 Misdemeanor? Who came up with that?
