My cats are flanged in, not welded. Who can put some flanges on straight pipe for me using good stainless (the kind that doesn't change color, I forget the number) for track days without too much expense? I know there have been lots of recommendations for good exhaust shops, but not all are willing to do anything that involves no cats, even if it's for a car registered historic and only to be used on a track.

Give them the pipe and tell them what you want on it. I dont know of any shop that wont do that if you dont bring the car up there.

go by a big als or something...tell him you want them just for the track...im sure he will put your car on lift and make you some and reinstall your factory cats and you can roll home...just tell him your paying cash and dont need a receipt...should work fine...

just dont say it in front of other customers...

But that really is what it's for! That's why I had flanges put on the cats, so I can swap em back in for the street.

I guess I'll go by a big al's, but I've heard they aren't good for picky people.
