Yes, you can use an Ls crank and Ls rods in a GSR block...

I have done it before, you either need to knife edge the crank, modify, or block off the oil squirters. You need to use the bearing set for the Ls, also you should check the balance on the crankshaft because the Ls has a lower rev limit, and get ARP rod bolts/studs depending on if you are using forged rods or OEM.

You will notice more torque everywhere, it is actually a large difference. Definately worth it.
