Honda idle problem...
hey my 1995 honda prelude (h23) recently has had an idle problem. when it is in park (A/T) the idle will surge to 1500 then drop to around 800 and do this until it goes into a gear. also, when applying the brakes in park the idle will drop around 600 and the car will almost stall. the pedal feels mushy, brake lines have been bled and fluid is fine. i think the two problems are related somehow seeing as how the idle drops VERY low when the brakes are pressed.
the idle problem sounds like a TPS problem to me, but i have no clue about the second problem. maybe a master cylinder? opinions needed, this crap's annoying and this is my daily driver

i hate the iac valve (idle air control) its a sensor on the back of the throttle body. it should have three bolts holding it on. take it off and spray the screen with a engine cleaner. the screen can get stopped up and cuase this problem. it happend to me so i think its worth a shot.good luck

mine was the fast idle thermal control valve, under the TB. you wil have to take the TB off to get to it. the wax was loose from racing so much just tighten it if the I.A.C valve is fine

na its had a similar problem before, and it was the TPS. but it wasnt exactly like this. who knows though, might be a vacuum leak. i think it is more electronic though because it stops once it is out of park. i'll let yall know what i find.
