alternator removal
we are in process of removing alt on 89 carb.
how in the heck do you get this thing out?
we have all the bolts off, plugs off, etc but are not sure how this thing can get out.
it doesnt seem to be able to slide out through the top. any ideas/tips how?
do you have to take the axel off? if so how?
also another possibility is the alt bracket and slide out through wheel well area?
please give me some ideas
thanks!

pull the wheel....unbolt the 17mm castle nut on the ball joint.....pop it loose with a pickle fork....pull it forward, after its loose.....take a prybar and pop the axle out of the tranny...you dont have to pull it out of the car, just out of the tranny, and the alt will fall and hit you on the head.
yet another reason i like having a lift at my house...and 12 at work
