Getting a lift done
3 inch toytech lift spacers... simple good to clear 32x11.50 on stock width/backspaced rims without rubbing and 33x12.50's with minor rubbing, may require some trimming
and that Green 4runner looks to have a Dana 44 SAS with the All-Pro 3 link kit

Some of you guys are really suggesting a 3" body lift and call it a day? What the hell is the point of that?
If you're going to do it, do it right. Decide what you're going to use the vehicle for and shop for a lift that you think will best suit your needs. I'm pretty new to this as well, but I can't imagine ever being happy with a 3" body lift.... and that's it.

Half ass?..definitely. But for a mall crawler/beach/occasional "mud" it's fine.
I don't know... I guess I'm just still thinking in car terms, but putting a 3" body lift on seems about like the equivalent of cutting the springs on a civic. Sure you're getting the stance you want, but you haven't made any improvement to the suspension, you just got the "look" you wanted. I've never approved of that in the car world and I guess I just haven't (probably won't) accept it in the truck world.
You can get a decent 3" lift for a pretty reasonable price, why not just do that?

I totally agree with you on what you're saying.
That's why the OP needs to be a little more specific with what he wants out of the vehicle. If he's like most truck owners in southern chesapeake he's going to be skeptical of putting his rig in deep sand, much less a few inches of dirty water.
As for body lift vs cut springs, I can't say it's a perfect comparison. Ya both are cheap alternatives to get the look without any of the performance other than making tires fit better, but you can make a truck on body lift ride just fine with some slightly longer travel shocks and springs.
The op probably doesn't want to deal with driveshaft spacers, extended brake lines, pinion angles, needing new gears or a whole lot more power.
The second he wants to start some technical trails needing some flex or a decent sized mud hole he needs to start building the suspension/drivetrain.

youll be unhappy with the body lift in the long run. they look like crap because you can see the whole frame. and i wouldnt trust one in any off road situation. i also dont trust any local offroad shops.. ive seen shady work from all of them.. like mentioned above check out davis off road and talk to jw. hes probably one of the realest retailers around here. or check into island offroad. joey put up some amazing trucks as well
