A "1/2 tub" isn't worth the trouble in the rear. You can accomplish the same result with a lot less work with a hammer. It's no different than massaging exterior fenders with hammer/dolly well except with less finesse and more force. ha That's not halfassed, just a different method to accomplish the same end result. The hammer just happens to be easier.
Keep in mind the car isn't on air, therefore it's static height will never change, so the only clearence needed is enough to allow for suspension travel at that particular height. Which can easily be gained with a hammer at his height.
P.S.- I'm interested in checking out that link tho...
